Extending Practical Medicine

Rudolf Steiner collaborated with physician Ita Wegman to write this classic introduction to spiritual medicine, intended to revitalize the healing arts through spiritual knowledge. Without underrating or dismissing modern medicine, they extend allopathic medicine beyond its present materialistic outlook to a fuller view of the human condition. They felt "it was important to add to existing knowledge the insights that can come from true perception of the spirit, enabling us to understand the processes of illness and healing." This extension of conventional medicine—generally called "anthroposophical medicine"—is used and valued by many physicians and clinics around the world.
